UE07 £37,099 to £44,263 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £39,347 to £46,974 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

College of Science and Engineering, School of Biological Sciences, Institute of Cell Biology

Full time contract (35 hours per week)

Fixed term (12 months)


We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc to join the Swaffer lab and lead a major research project within the lab's overall focus on understanding how cell size impacts core cellular processes (see and Swaffer et al., Cell 2023 for details).


The Opportunity:


We're a multi-disciplinary group that combines approaches across cell, molecular, systems & quantitative biology, and we welcome applicates from diverse academic backgrounds.

Start date is flexible and funding for this project is secured for at least 4 years as part of an 8-year Wellcome Trust CDA grant to the Swaffer lab.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong motivation to contribute to a novel area of cell biology research: _i.e. _understanding the role of cell size.
  • Skilled with standard techniques across cell and molecular biology.
  • Expertise / training in one or more of the following: RNA biology, genomics, proteomics, single cell imaging, quantitative data analysis.
