**Job Title
Assistant Director - People and Culture


Job Summary
You will play an integral role in supporting our people to save and improve more lives.


We'll look to you to develop a clear understanding of the workforce priorities and areas for development within the Plasma directorate.

Working in close collaboration with managers, specialist teams in both the People and Plasma directorate and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including Trade Union partners you will drive the workforce agenda and champion HR best practice.


A key element of this role will be to help our business units to identify and develop future talent and improve management capability and resilience through effective coaching and feedback.

You will also take a lead role in driving forward improvements in engagement, wellbeing and diversity within the named directorate.


There will be a range of exciting opportunities to influence and shape future services, as we embark on an ambitious programme to establish the core systems and processes within Plasma.


Main duties of the job
In this role you will be a core strategic member of the People Senior Leadership Team and core strategic member of the Directorate(s) Senior Leadership Team, leading the Directorate(s) People Partner Team


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading wider Directorate(s) people strategic discussions and decisionmaking ensuring robust measurement and evaluation
  • Providing expert advice to Directorate(s) on people matters, issues, opportunities and strategic HR policy implementation across remit
  • Leading and implementing people strategy and plans, with a particular emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion, talent, high performance and change
  • Setting direction making decisions and evaluating impact, contributing to strategy and aspirations of the Organisation.
  • Improving services critically evaluating and encouraging improvement and innovation.

About You

Experience and Knowledge

  • Leadership and management experience
  • Fully understand the links between the development of good HR strategies and the affect this will have on the achievement of the organisations key objectives and strategies
  • Expert in multiply 'peoplerelated' specialisms including Diversity and Inclusion, Resourcing, Talent, Workforce Planning and change/transformation
  • Experience of extensive change management projects and manaing the complex HR implications, to achieve to required outcomes
  • Experience of dealing with complex Employee Relations issues e.g. investigations, grievances, disputes etc.
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law
  • Experience of developing, presenting and evalutating people management skills programmes
  • Experience of researching issues to develop evidencebased practice and supporting policy
  • Possess contractual knowledge & experience in devising contractual arrangements

Qualifications and Training

  • Masters' degree in Human Resource management or related topic OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development OR equivalent relevant experience
