We have a great new position at Stannah for an
Early Careers Practitioner to join the team.

This is a hybrid role, that offers flexibility to work from home and in the office. Part time hours would be considered.


As a newly created role at Stannah, the Early Careers Practitioner will provide an early careers service to the business.


Based within the HR team the role will support Senior Leaders and Managers to achieve business objectives, through development of emerging talent during their formative years.


Stannah recognises the importance of early careers as part of its business strategy and this role is responsible for supporting and coordinating related activity.

Day to day the Early Careers Practitioner will be involved with Recruitment, Training Providers, Apprenticeships, Government Incentives, Salary Reviews, Events, Colleges and Universities.

This is a varied position at the start of its creation, and whilst Stannah has been carrying out some of the tasks through various teams, this is an opportunity to bring the early careers journey into one place, with the role holder actively organising and supporting.

The role will include liaising with local schools and supporting our STEM Ambassador Programme to encourage future Engineers.


The Early Careers Practitioner role would suit individuals who are forward thinking in their approach, who work proactively to drive forward activities, both in the short and long term.

It is essential that individuals can communicate at all levels, both with internal and external stakeholders.

A background within early careers would be an advantage. Previous roles might include Career Coordinator, Early Careers Advisor, Careers Support Coordinator, Apprentice Recruitment specialist or Graduate Recruiter.


We are ideally looking for individuals who have had involvement or have a good awareness of Apprentices, Traineeships, Graduates, Interns and T-Level placements.

This might be from a role in HR, Human Resources, Recruitment or Talent Acquisition.

It is essential that the Early Careers Practitioner can demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding of diversity, and have some understanding of funding Guidelines relating to the Apprenticeship Levy and other Government funding opportunities.


To be successful in the role the Early Careers Practitioner will be able to demonstrate they are able to work with HR teams, Senior Management and Technical Training Teams.

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager the role requires a flexible approach, as some travel and working out of hours might be required, to attend events or locations offsite within the UK.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Actively promote early careers opportunities internally and externally
  • Identify Apprenticeship Standards that meet business needs
  • Support recruitment process for Apprentices, Traineeships, Graduates, Interns and T-Level placements
  • Identify and evaluate appropriate Training Providers to deliver Apprenticeships
  • Review and approve Apprenticeship Contracts with Training Providers
  • Maintain Apprenticeship data within.
Gov Apprenticeship Service portal

  • Provide monthly progress reports
  • Support HR with salary reviews
  • Deliver annual recognition event to celebrate Early Careers successes
  • Coordinate T-Level activities with internal Departments and Colleges
  • Coordinate Work Placement and Work Experience
  • Support Joseph Stannah Foundation, STEM activities and Arkwright Scholarships
  • Support business social value activities focused on apprenticeships and school engagement

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

  • A level or equivalent
  • MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and HR Systems
