Salary:_COMPETITIVE_**Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity to join the Technical team as a Compliance Coordinator at our Hamilton site as part of 'Finsbury Food Group'.

Lightbody is the UK's largest supplier of celebration cakes to UK retailers, with Disney, Mars, Universal and Thorntons all within the portfolio of branded cakes made under licence.

To be a success in this role, you will need a can-do attitude, be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate clear communication skills.

It would also be preferable that you have a food science or food manufacturing background and knowledge of BRCGS.


This is what you'll actually do


In this busy and varied role you will be a vital part of the Technical team reporting to the Compliance Manager and will be responsible for assisting in the daily running of the Compliance team.


Day to day you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks which will include the completion of customer KPI reports, board reports and on-site scorecards.

You will be the key contact for customer complaints and you will be responsible for managing, analysing and responding to complaints.

Part of this will include logging complaints in Qadex and organising and hosting complaints review meetings.


It would be ideal if you had auditing experience as you will coordinate and carry out internal audits of current systems against BRC and customer standard however full training will be provided.

This will include undertaking glass and hard plastic audits as required and you will be responsible for coordinating consumables.


Part of the role will include arranging and administrating product testing, (nutritional and micro,) against a set schedule and you will summarise and report results as required.

This will include running laboratory results and communicating these to the Technical Management. You will also be tasked with preparing micro samples for collection daily.


In the role you will work closely with the site operations team and therefore you will need good communication to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.

You will also regularly host and present at meetings and we are looking for a confident individual who is comfortable communicating with others.


Ideally this is you

  • Food manufacturing experience with qualifications in food science, technology/nutrition or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of BRCGS and/or Customer Standards
  • Experience in internal auditing
  • Flexible with a hands on approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
