We're looking for a part-time Cleaner to join us at one of the most unique visitor attractions in the region


About us

  • When New Hall opens in May, Locomotion will become home to one of the largest collections of heritage rail vehicles in the world, heralding a new exciting phase in the museum's history. Located in the world's first railway town, Locomotion tells the story of the past, present and future of the railways, featuring such as icons as the locomotive that opened the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the mighty prototype Deltic engine, and the 'Journey Shrinker', the world's fast diesel locomotive.
  • Our Museum Cleaners ensure the museum is a clean, safe, and secure environment for all our staff and visitors, from when we say hello to when we say goodbye.

About the role

  • As one of our Cleaners you will play a key role in ensuring the museum and our office spaces are cleaned to a high standard, in line with Museum guidelines and regulations.

Permanent contract - Part time, 25 hours per week

  • This is a permanent, part time position and will be to cover cleaning shifts shift patterns are daytime (9am2pm or 12pm5pm), with some weekend cover, arranged on a rolling rota basis

About you

  • This may be your first housekeeping or cleaning position, or you may already have good experience cleaning in a commercial or domestic environment either way we wish to hear from you.
  • The team can provide any training needed, but above all, we are looking for enthusiastic, committed, and punctual individuals. You'll take real pride in doing a great job with good attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team.
