About the role


Haleon is looking for a Regulatory Affairs Lead, this role will be the key point of contact in evaluating and progressing innovation opportunities in Next.

This role will review new ideas and enable regulatory support as required (from categories/other regulatory support options), especially in the early stages of development.

The Next function is unique in that it explores products, services, and business models new to Haleon.

As such, the Regulatory Affairs Lead will need to use broad experience and learning agility to provide the leadership required.

In addition to strategic leadership, the Regulatory Affairs Lead will need to oversee the execution of Regulatory activities, extending the breadth of the role.


Key responsibilities
Scoping and Discovery

  • Strong business partner to Next Platforms, use Regulatory insights to guide and shape the portfolios.
  • Lead Regulatory assessments of new opportunities, review new ideas/concepts (using creative solutions for those that sit outside established categories).
  • Provide advice on regulatory requirements in Business Units under consideration for execution of inmarket experiments.
  • Build external relationships with KOL, Regulators and others who are influential in the Self Care arena, for early identification of trends and developments in the Regulatory environment that may be leveraged for future opportunities
Discovery

  • Lead creation of regulatory strategies that guide the best delivery of innovation
  • Delivery of regulatory support for the development of labelling, claims, advertising, promotion, and informational (digital) platforms.
  • Coordination of Regulatory meetings with boards of health as required.
  • External regulatory environmental engagement to further the business goals; drive key actions (inc assessment and build on industry and competition trends) and ensure key issues/threats are managed via the regions/markets Provide advice and leadership in planning launches at scale, especially in areas new to the company newtoHaleon regulatory frameworks.
Consultancy

  • Key advisor to the business on all regulatory aspects of assigned projects. Must be abreast of healthcare trends and how they may impact the regulatory environment and Haleon.

Qualifications and skills
Essential

  • Bachelors in Life science/Pharmaceuticallyrelated science (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biology, Medical Engineering)
  • 12 years' experience in Regulatory health
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders (other commercial and technical staff, local senior management, external regulators, trade associations)
  • Confident to work in fast pace and unknown areas.
  • Ability to weigh up the risks and benefits and give advice based on learnings.
  • Ability to assess regulatory requirements in different markets around the world.
