Our client is an award winning, high tech service provider based in the heart of Liverpool City centre. Due to a period of rapid growth they are recruiting a Head of Procurement to join their expanding team. The Head of Procurement is a newly created roleand will form part of the senior leadership team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will have the autonomy to create a procurement function within the business and implement a new strategy.

It is essential that you have significant procurement and buyingexperience, preferably in the telecoms, technology or construction sectors. Ideally you will be CIPS qualified or working towards that qualification.

As Head of Procurement you will be able to run an end-to-end procurement and buying function to exacting deadlines,meeting price, quality and time KPI's.

This will include running the day to day buying activities supporting the business to build and deliver projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and develop the procurement and buying function, including the formulation and delivery of the overall procurement strategy ensuring the successful delivery of the relevant materials, resources, goods and services, to meet the needs of the business.
  • Implementation of procedures and supply agreements.
  • Design and develop relevant Request For Pricing (RFP) documents when necessary.
  • Sourcing and negotiation with suppliers.
  • Compliance with company procedures and strategy on supply chain management.
  • Supporting stock control and reporting, working closely with the Finance team.
  • Progressing the provision of materials and services to meet delivery programmes to demanding deadlines.
  • Raising of orders ensuring compliance with internal governance.
  • Participation in Framework Agreement Procurement
  • Experience of leading and running an endtoend RFP process.
  • Implement and enforce compliance of all procurement team activities with the approved business processes and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience of Telecoms, Technology or Construction procurement.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects and organise own time around key priorities.
  • Demonstrate experience working collaboratively with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience of procurement leadership and management on significant contracts and projects.
  • In depth product knowledge of telecoms materials and equipment preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of suppliers, market prices and trends.
  • Working knowledge of Contract T&Cs, including NEC suite.
  • Ability to negotiate competitively and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional communication service skills
  • Experienced in use of Microsoft Office suite
