    The Senior Principal Designer Role

    As Senior Principal Designer, you will manage complex projects, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act and CDM 2015 regulations while embedding safety and compliance at every stage of design process. You'll be instrumental in developing and growing consultancy's BSA services, with chance to establish and lead a high-performing team.

    Senior Principal Designer Key Responsibilities

    1. Deliver Principal Designer duties in accordance with Building Safety Act and CDM 2015 regulations.
    2. Provide expert guidance on design risk management, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
    3. Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to integrate safety into design and construction process.
    4. Build and lead a team of Principal Designers, alongside supporting their professional growth.
    5. Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, producing fee proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships.
    6. Conduct site inspections, audits, and design risk assessments.
    7. Drive innovation and best practices within consultancy's BSA services.

    The Ideal Candidate

    1. Extensive experience as a Principal Designer or in a similar role within design.
    2. Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act, CDM 2015 regulations, and health and safety best practices.
    3. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
    4. Professional membership with APS (IMaPS or CMaPS) or equivalent accreditation is desirable.
    5. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
    6. A proactive, client-focused approach with ability to manage and develop a team.
    7. Ambition to take on a leadership role with significant career progression.
