GM Cancer Alliance is expanding the Cancer Academy team.

We are looking to appoint a Digital Education Lead with creative flair, innovation and project management skills to lead on the development of products and services for digital learning and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the learner management system (LMS).


The applicant will use their experience in digital learning using a variety of authoring and media technologies, underpinned by good instructional design, to create high quality digital learning and services to support the culture of lifelong learning offered by the Cancer Academy.

The Digital Education Lead will be required to interact with key stakeholders (from all care settings and professions) to develop eLearning and other educational offers to ensure seamless integration between digital solutions on a local, regional and national scale

  • Lead on the development of assets, packages, learner management system, learner integration with website and learner tracking to ensure a smooth learner experience, from digital front door to ongoing learning, by using the most relevant authoring tools and LMS course design approaches
  • Work alongside other digital leads within other organisations to ensure the GM Cancer Academy digital assets can seamless interface with other digital solutions (e.g. ePortfolios and Passports) on local, regional and national scales
  • Work closely with the Cancer Alliance Innovation leads to ensure digital solutions and educational offers are cutting edge
  • Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to support the creation of digital learning, identifying clear and realistic milestones
  • Engage with learners to shape offers and work with groups who aren't engaging to understand why and make necessary adjustments
  • Support the commissioning/procurement process of external digital learning suppliers within the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions
  • Manage project plans with clearly defined timeframes ensuring that this contains clear objectives, tasks and identified leads, escalating any risks to the Senior Programme Lead for Education and relevant boardsGreater Manchester Cancer Alliance (GM Cancer) is a venture that brings together patients, charities, NHS and academic institutions with the aim of securing worldclass cancer outcomes and experience for our population. The GM Cancer Academy is a Programme of work within the Workforce and Education Programme.

Greater Manchester (GM) Cancer Academy is pleased to be advertising the position of Digital Education Lead.

GM Cancer Academy is a programme of work within GM Cancer Alliance's Workforce and Education programme and is the independent hub for cancer education across Greater Manchester.

As the hive of cancer education, the Academy supports the development of a sustainable lifelong learning model for cancer care across all care settings.

The programme ensures that our workforce is equipped with the skills and tools necessary to deliver the best patient care whilst supporting the delivery of the NHS People Plan and the Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer services.

The Academy aims to reduce inequity around accessing cancer education and provides a mechanism to standardise training, education and career frameworks for the current and future non-medical workforce.


The applicant will use their experience in digital learning using a variety of authoring and media technologies, underpinned by good instructional design, to create high quality digital learning and services to support the culture of lifelong learning offered by the Cancer Academy.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading Digital Development

  • Ensure best practice and pedagogical principles are applied to all digital learning developments
  • Work independently, with support where required to produce fit for purpose, innovative and timely learning solutions for the nonmedical workforce.
  • Work with designers and agencies to ensure they are aligned to the Cancer Academy's design standards and processes
  • Support the Senior Programme Lead for Education to deliver the GM Cancer Academy strategy and lead on innovative digital learning solutions
  • Lead on the development of assets, packages, learner management system, learner integration with website and learner tracking to ensure a smooth learner expe
