SENIOR LEGAL CASHIER
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm (one hour for lunch)
Salary:
£45 to £55k per annum (dependent on experience)
My Client is highly rated in both Chambers and The Legal 500 directories of leading UK law firms and provide advice across the UK and internationally.
They are an Employment Law firm that deals with all legal issues relating to people in the workplace, from employment law to business immigration, from pensions to other corporate employment and HR services including incentives.
Overview of Role
My client is looking for an experienced Senior Cashier who has a minimum of five years' experience working in a busy legal practice.
- Daily bank reconciliations and transfers from Client to Office bank accounts.
- Month end bank reconciliations for Client and Office accounts.
- Supporting on credit control a daily task as and when you have the time to ensure clients are constantly being reminded and chased for payment. Escalating problem clients to Head of Finance and/or lead fee earners as appropriate.
- Reconciliation of Client Monies held on account.
- Posting client disbursements, recharging client disbursements and settlement of disbursements when we have received funds.
- Daily and month end reconciliation of credit card spend and raising bills to recharge credit card spend to clients. This is high value and high volume across immigration matters that covers Home Office visa fees. In addition, managing credits to clientsfor Home Office refunds as received.
- Quarterly payments
- VAT, CT61 and CT in advance.
- Dealing with clients and taking phone payments as required.
- Supporting and helping fee earners and their support staff as required within specified SLAs.
- Supporting with month end billing (key priority is to close month end billing six working days post the month end).
- Support the junior cashier with purchase ledger including coding of supplier invoices to correct nominal codes and branches.
- Supporting the junior cashier with month end petty cash reconciliation.
- Processing, posting and payment of staff expenses.
Requirements:
- Diploma Level ILFM(Dip) or ideally Associate Level AILFM.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A flexible, 'can and will do' attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Being able to work independently and part of a team when needed.
- Ability to multitask and manage sensitive documents.
- Experience of Microsoft Office products, such as Excel is crucial.
- Previous experience of SOS is desirable.
