Production Engineer - Experienced Production Engineer40k to 55k DOE
Our client, an innovative Design and Manufacturing business based close to Didcot, Oxfordshire are currently looking to recruit a skilled, knowledgeable, and committed Production Engineer.
Role Purpose of the Production Engineer
Responsible for supporting the design for manufacturing and manufacturing processes across our clients product portfolio.
This role will have input and oversight across our products providing input in the designs, identifying problems and recommending solutions,using and training others with our machinery, troubleshooting any equipment problems.
Summary of Key Responsibilities of the Production Engineer
- Work with their Technical leads across our product portfolio to develop CAD/CAM models and drawings for parts and subassemblies
- Create and write Manufacturing and Assembly Procedures (MAPS) for different manufacturing operations.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, as a part of MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Testing) check/approval routine.
- Supporting the technical buyer with technical inputs and discussions with external suppliers through the procurement cycle.
- Supervise manufacturing processes to ensure high quality work is completed to the highest safety standards
- Diagnose problems in design and or production and provide recommendations and advise on resolving them
- Review NCRs and provide technical inputs as and when requested by Product Assurance Manager
- Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing this knowledge with others particularly within the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Design (MAIT) team
- Create production schedules for live and forecasted projects
- Analysis of the production approach to make recommendations for improvement
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
- A Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering
- Experience in production within a highly regulated industry (preferably Space sector)
- Experience with CAD software
- Thorough understanding of engineering drawing principles and metrology is a must
- Excellent communication and influencing skills and proficient with MS Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
- Excellent team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem solving presenting findings and solutions
- Ability to plan and organise workload across multiple projects ensuring deadlines are met
- Excellent attention to detail
