The Estates and Facilities Capital Project Assistant will join the team at an exciting time and will use their knowledge and skills to play a key role in the delivery of the Estate Strategy.

The University estate is comprised of over 130 buildings with 190,000sqm of space, featuring a multitude of learning, research, social and commercial environments.


In the Capital Project Assistant role, you will provide support to a team of Capital Project Managers and wider team members in the delivery of the University's Capital Plan.


You will assist with the delivery of capital projects by providing support the Senior Capital Project Manager and Project Managers in a wide range of project management duties and activities.


You will be involved in the support of the management of internal and external teams, which will include supporting the project managers in the procurement of external suppliers and the ongoing management of consultants and contractors.

Day-to-day activities will include attending and recording project meetings and assisting the project managers with the planning, management, and execution of project tasks and activities.

You will work in partnership with stakeholders and other colleagues to deliver an effective service.

You should have experience in construction project management and an interest in construction in general.

This will include the ability to organise and prioritise workloads with adaptability and flexibility to meet time pressures and project deadlines, using your own initiative at times.

You should have strong interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships and be able to communicate clearly and effectively using a number of formats.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
