Description

Key responsibilities:


To develop effective relationships with children, their parents and other adults who look after the children out of the setting.

To work collaboratively with other members of staff and outside agencies, ensuring cohesive working practices at all times.

To create and maintain a warm, caring, stimulating environment that encourages the development of children throughout the club.

To implement and promote out of schools policies: For example, Equalities, Health and Safety, child protection.


To have an understanding of the legislative framework within which all settings operate, especially The Welfare Requirements of The Early Years Foundation Stage.

Recognise and meet, at all times, the needs of each child and their family as individuals.

Assist in the training of students. To help supervise students and volunteers, and act as a good role model for all new staff.


To act as a key person for designated children within the club, settling them when they first start, and ensuring their individual needs are met at all times.

To write detailed, accurate observations on individual children for their Early Years Foundation Stage book.

Assist in the selection, care and maintenance of toys and equipment.

To keep records and monitor all accidents/ incidents.


To be fully inclusive at all times, offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious beliefs, racial origins, disabilities, and cultural or linguistic background.

To work as part of a team.

To provide healthy and nutritious snacks throughout the day/ supervision of meal and snack times.

To implement The Early Years Foundation Stage within the club for the reception children.


To attend regular training sessions, both in house and external, to ensure continual professional development and in order to keep up to date with changes in policy and practice.

To attend all staff meetings arranged by the manager.


Have an awareness and understanding of the management and control of children's personal data under the General Data Protection Regulations 2018, which came into effect on 25th May 2018.


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
Yes, staff have masks and must wear them when they move from there work base. Hand sanitizer is on offer to staff at all times especially when they enter/leave the buildings. No parents/carers or visitors are entering the buildings at present.

  • Childcare: 2 years (preferred)
