Description

Woodlands Great Warley is seeking a motivated, talented EYFS Practitioner to be part of our setting and will work under the instruction/guidance of senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils.

Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching room.

We are looking for a Level 3 qualified Practitioner to work as part of our team to provide outstanding service.

The position is Term Time only.


Pay Range:
According to Experience


Main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Supervision of Breakfast Club on a rotation from 7.45 am.
  • To have a solid understanding of The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and assist the Kindergarten Lead with planning, preparation and delivery of the curriculum.
  • Consider pupils with Special Educational Needs and ensure their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment and materials and use of data.
  • To build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration.
  • To help reinforce and promote independent learning and social skills by supporting pupils in groups.
  • To assist pupils with physical needs.
  • To help pupils record work in an appropriate way and to develop study and organisational skills.
  • To build the pupils' confidence and enhance selfesteem and actively seek to promote the academic, social and emotional welfare of pupils.
  • Attend afterschool functions at the Headteacher's discretion.
  • To adhere to the school's policies with special reference to the learning support, safeguarding and child protection, equal opportunities policies, and to help promote inclusion in the school
  • To promote high standards, progression, continuity, and quality of learning
  • To ensure uptodate records of the children's progress are put on Tapestry
  • To supervise practical tasks.
  • To carry out structured classroom assessment/observation and feedback outcomes
  • Holding parents' consultations twice a year?
  • To be involved in keeping records and evaluating identified pupils' progress.
  • Supporting the use of ICT in the classroom and developing pupils' competence and independence in its use.
  • To supervise pupils for limited and specified periods including breaktimes, during which the postholder should facilitate games and activities.
  • Build and maintain close and secure relationships with pupils, attending to and ensuring the safety, health and welfare of children at all times, including the dressing and undressing, toileting and cleaning of pupils where necessary.
  • To assist with escorting pupils on educational visits.
  • Ensure the inclusion of all children, including those with EAL, and support individual children who find it difficult to form relationships.
  • To help keep children on task by giving them individual attention where necessary and help them to become successful learners.
  • To assist pupils with their personal hygiene needs.
  • Delivering intervention programmes where necessary.


These duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the job, skills and grade.
