Vacancies for Support workers in Great Cornard, Sudbury

Salary:
£10.79+ starting salary with an anti-social hour bonus.

Achieving Aspirations as a company provides Residential short breaks & progressive day service for young adults with learning disabilities.

Service and support tasks include:

To offer informal and practical support to our Young People to ensure that they feel safe and secure within the service and are treated with dignity and respect.

To use a non-judgemental, positive and empowering approach in all your work.

To work alongside out-of-hours support and/or emergency services.

To provide responsive sensitive and proportionate support to our Young People in events of incident or crisis.

To undertake the practical delivery of the project whilst on shift including:
a) Working within Achieving Aspirations policies and procedures.

b) Ensuring that our Young People are safe throughout the night.

c) Managing behaviour which jeopardises the aims or safety of the home.

d) Ensuring the building and all communal areas are clean, including communal areas and encouraging our Young People to take responsibility for keeping their personal space clean.

e) Regularly monitoring all areas of the premises, ensuring security and safety procedures are adhered to.

To use internal systems for record keeping and monitoring.

To carry out all duties within the spirit and requirements of the Equality and Diversity policy, actively promoting equality issues and seeking to challenge and overcome disadvantage and discrimination.

This position requires:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Staff to be able to maintain accurate records of young peoples interactions and progress.

Staff to be inclusive, responsive and proactive.

Applicants will need to be able to drive or reliably commute to the site as its in a remote area with no public transport access.

We do not offer sponsporship and require all Full time staff for this post to work a minimum of 35 hours a week and be fully flexible 7 days a week.

Salary:
£10.49-£13.00 per hour
