The Risk Management Business Partner plays a key role in first line risk management within EQ Retirement Solutions. The key purpose of the role is to identify, mitigate, monitoring and control operational risk.
Working closely with operational leads, with a supportive business partnering approach to mitigate and report identified risk. Through the risk management process provide assurance to clients, developing an effective working relationship.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
- Developing effective Risk Management framework and policies.
- Driving a strong Risk Management culture, liaising effectively with 2nd and 3rd line functions (Compliance & Risk and Internal Audit).
- Establishing and overseeing the implementation of Operational Risk policies and associated governance processes.
- Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes working closely with the Business, Support functions and Compliance team.
- Monitoring Risk Management effectiveness through investigation of operational issues and assurance of critical controls.
- Maintain, update and assess risks and controls within the Logicgate Risk Management system
- Manage and provide regular client risk reporting to include; Risk Register, Control position and Issue Management log.
- Attend and discuss risk reporting at monthly client Governance Committee Meetings
- Strong leadership qualities, acting as a role model to the team and other colleagues.
- Proven management capability, setting clear targets and expectations. Ability to prioritise work and to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Practical experience of operating a risk management framework within operations.
- Strong influencing skills and an ability to provide assurance to clients whilst supporting operational colleagues;
- Good analytical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
