Are you passionate about our inland waterways and the outdoors?
We are looking for someone who is proactive, a communicator with sound practical skills and good level of fitness to join our small team on the Basingstoke Canal.
You will be at the forefront of this joining a small team to assist in managing boating, recreation, asset safety, and water levels.
As part of learning to become a Lock keeper, you will also have the opportunity to develop and widen your range of site management and waterway-based skills on a distinctly 'different' countryside and heritage site.
- Boat handling
- Working at height
- First Aid at work
- Maintenance and use of Strimmers and Brushcutters.
- Maintenance and use of a Chainsaw including the felling of small trees
- Basic Tree Inspection
- Pedestrian and ride on mowers and Brushcutters
The post holder will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis for which they will receive additional payments.
