About The Role:

Carrying out various housekeeping and cleaning duties. To create and maintain a quality standard to the agreed specification within set time limits within a specific area. To comply with the National Cleaning Standards set out by the NHS. This role is based on the Ward/Theatres.

You will be working Monday to Friday, on a permanent part-time, 14:30 to 21:00, 30 hours per week.


You will:


  • Undertake a range of housekeeping and cleaning tasks in the hospital,
  • Ensure Health and Safety regulations are complied with at all times.
  • Use, maintain and store equipment correctly.
  • Ensure a professional image is presented at all times.
  • Your job will be to keep a busy hospital clean through numerous housekeeping tasks, in order to keep clients, customers and staff safe and present the client building in a professional manner by keeping it spotless.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks that may be requested by the management team and deemed as a reasonable request.
  • Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas.
  • Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
  • You will be required to work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore you will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control.
  • Cooperate with ICS in ensuring that all statutory and other requirements are complied with in particular, compliance with the Health Act 2006: Code of practice for the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections.
  • You must report to your supervisor if for any reason you cannot complete the service.
  • To take a direct interest in the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your work activities.
  • Maintain full compliance with ISO 9002 requirements for which you have a responsibility.
  • To ensure you observe and abide by all local rules and policies relevant to the site where you work.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Willingness to bring concerns to corporate attention via prescribed channels
  • NVQ level 2 in Healthcare and BICS cleaning certificate. Not essential as training will be given.
  • Cleaning experience desired but not essential as training will be given.

Professional Qualifications:


  • NVQ level 2 in Healthcare and BICS cleaning certificate. Not essential as training will be given.

Experience
