The Opportunity:

This role is an opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated Trainee Accountant to join our finance team.

This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are looking to kickstart their career in accounting and gain valuable experience in professional services.


As a Trainee Accountant, you will work closely with experienced accountants and finance professionals to learn the intricacies of accounting, financial management, and reporting.


This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals pursuing a career in finance to grow and develop their skills.

The role may also offer opportunity for rotation into different finance teams, to gain exposure to a variety of business challenges and types of accounting, such as management accounts, commercial finance and technical accounting.


Key Accountabilities:

Data Entry and Record Keeping:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and general ledger entries.
  • Input and organize financial data into accounting software systems.

Financial Analysis:

  • Support senior accountants in analyzing financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Help prepare financial reports, statements, and summaries.

Reconciliation and Auditing:

  • Assist in reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Participate in internal audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Stay uptodate with relevant accounting and tax regulations.
  • Assist in preparing tax documents and ensuring timely compliance.

Communication and Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to gather financial information and resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, and colleagues.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and educational opportunities to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
  • Work towards obtaining relevant certifications (CIMA or ACCA).

Desirable Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
