We were pleased to secure an OFSTED judgement of "Good" in March 2020 and since then have continued on our journey, delivering high quality education through a variety of methods during the pandemic.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fantastic college and to lead and shape the future of adult education in Bexley.

Learning and Enterprise College Bexley is the premier provider of Adult Education and Community Learning in the London Borough of Bexley.


About the Role:


  • As Principal you will hold responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the College and for proposing its strategic direction to the Governing Body and the Council.


This is a fantastic opportunity to realign and redesign the curriculum of the College to benefit the college's communities and learners.


To do this, you should consider the current and future employment market to inform curriculum design and generally look to expand the learning offer with higher-level courses and improved access to qualifications.

Alongside this, also maintaining the colleges traditionally offered adult learning courses that focus on practical skills, ESOL etc.

The successful incoming Principal will need to have the ability to be a strong and dynamic leader of complex College organisation and public service, including:

  • College services design and delivery (including effective teaching and learning strategies and curriculum design)

Human resources strategy and policy:
consulting, developing, motivating and managing staff teams to achieve demanding goals and targets (including effective employee relations strategies)

  • Financial strategy, management, and control
  • Asset and accommodation strategy and management
  • Quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies
  • We are looking for a highly experienced leader with an experience of working within an education setting.
