I am recruiting for a contract Data Architect for an initial 6 months for a well known and respected insurer in Central London.

The position will be hybrid, minimum 2 days a week on-site.

The position is inside IR35 now, as it stands, however this is being reviewed and there is a possibility it will go outside.

Rate is circa £650 per day

Responsibilities include:

Critically evaluating the current technology stack and advising on short term/long term improvements
Forming a strong working relationship to IT, acting as a key bridge between the teams
Being involved in key data projects to help the company meet its strategic objectives, including liaising with other business units to help them identify and build the right solutions they require.
Driving the team forwards by identifying and experimenting with relevant technologies, with a view to integrating them into the tech stackHelping identify gaps in the current team set up and advising on the best way to fill them
Collaborating with actuaries and data scientists within the wider team

Key requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role
Ability to think strategically as well as get handson when required
Knowledge of at least one object orientated language, ideally Python
Significant experience of cloud providers/services, especially AWS and/or Azure.
Knowledge of DevOps best practices
Previous insurance knowledge would be an advantage
Experience communicating to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders at multiple levels
