leading land advisor for DCOs having supported over 70 DCO projects to date. Ardent

offers comprehensive land and property support throughout the lifecycle of a project,

supporting projects from scheme feasibility, throughout promotion, examination and

construction and into operation. Delivering projects on programme and budget is at the

centre of our approach, together with providing clients with a flexible and responsive

Key Accountabilities & Job Overview:

We are looking for an Associate Director to work in our Compensation Directorate.

As a compulsory purchase, land acquisition and compensation focussed company Ardent
are currently the leading land advisors for DCOs having been involved in over 70 DCO
projects to date. Based in Warrington, Leeds or Birmingham, the role will be to support
the provision of CPO advice to clients working on a complex portfolio of projects. The role
will involve some travel and working from clients' offices; attending client meetings;
implementing acquisition strategies; preparing property cost estimates; undertaking site
visits; engaging with affected parties; meeting with landowners and stakeholders, drafting
expert witnesses at examination and tribunal.

  • We are looking for someone who is driven and confident and who has an
emphasis on quality and attention to detail.

  • To lead on a wide range of professional valuation and compulsory purchase
advice to our clients.

  • To lead in the delivery of projects with guidance from senior team members as
required.

  • To advise clients in a technical capacity with a high level of technical grounding in
compulsory purchase and compensation.

  • To manage and forecast the financial aspect of projects reporting to the
appropriate Director with regards to project completion and invoicing.

  • Contribute and where required lead Team Meetings, reporting to Line Manager
and Project Managers on resource requirements for projects and any day-to-day
project or company issues.

  • Contribute and set the example in developing business for the company by
inputting into tenders, representing the company at functions and creating
relationships with clients and other disciplines through project work.

  • Have professional and commercial awareness and keep up to date of work
- related and industry updates.

  • To ensure that all work undertaken is in line with Ardent's company values.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:


  • Qualified Chartered Surveyor MRICS.
  • Experience working on projects which involve the compulsory acquisition of land.
  • High level of technical capability with the ability to impart knowledge to other
team members.

  • Lead by example.
  • Good Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in
writing to a variety of audiences from clients to claimants.

  • Selfmotivated and proactive, able to manage time efficiently working as part of a
team or in isolation and meet deadlines.

  • Good commercial acumen.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and develop new skills.
  • Good working knowledge of IT.
  • Compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with Ardent's ISO 9001
(Quality) and ISO Environment) accreditations.
