Background and service:
Kaleidoscope wants to ensure that service users are at the heart of what we do, we do not simply want to listen but to engage them in the future of the organisation.
Service User Engagement has always been part of Kaleidoscope's key objective areas and through our commitment has developed into a Co-Production focus.
This new post is a result of that decision, and we very much hope the role will facilitate further service user involvement in shaping our future.
Co-Production OfficerRole Purpose:
Kaleidoscope are committed to developing co-production across our service
- ensuring that the voice of people that use our services is heard and that they are involved in service design and delivery and reviewing in a meaningful way. The Co-Production officer role will work across the organisation supporting activity across our services the role will report directly to the Co-production service manager and will therefore have an independence to work autonomously, as well as a part of a team to work in collaboration with the co production team in the development of the Kaleidoscope Co
- production service user activity and engagement framework. It is hoped the post holder will work with the co production lead to champion service user rights and wellbeing. The role will also have an advocating role for better services internally and externally.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Coproduction lead to review progress against our commitment to develop coproduction.
- Support Coproduction lead to review existing service user involvement across
- Develop effective interpersonal relationships with partners, stakeholders, and the wider recovery community Wales wide.
- Support Coproduction lead to review how substance misuse services can be audited using the audit forms within the Service user and Recovery Frameworks.
- Lead on Peer-Led service delivery including Peer to peer naloxone/Needle exchange etc.
- To work with Welsh Government and other providers to establish a nationwide forum for people who use drugs. In some ways recreating the concept of ASWUM.
- Coordinate meetings/ administration/ agenda.
- Represent the voice of the service user at meeting when required.
- To support service user participation as required.
- To work on developing regional Peer Academy & Accreditation Programme exchange etc.
- Support on the development of the service User Involvement Strategy-Working with Co production lead and Kaleidoscope coms team to ensure a co production social media strategy is establishedDevelop and mentor regional Service User representativesContribute to Peer Led service auditLiaise with external Lived experience groups (eg; VAC Cardiff)Conduct routine local SU feedback groupsCoordinates Peer Led Groups such as Peer Support Groups, BreakfastGroups-Coordinate Hub dropin rotas (manned by peers)Point of contact for external mutual aid groups
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential Desirable
GCSE in maths/English (or
Qualifications Formal or informal training in co equivalent) and training production:
Needle exchange, Naloxone, harm reduction, treatment systems, OST, Peer mentoring / media liaison, social media promotion
Personal experience of substance misuse
Experience/ and of accessing services and utilising Experience of Advocacy
Knowledge lived experience to empower others delivered within a community setting.
Experience of Service User Involvement Knowledge of Welsh
Initiatives. Government's substance misuse strategy and
Experience of providing written reports. Recovery Framework
Ability to Communicate confidently and Knowledge of Welsh effectively both verbally and in writing. Government's Service User
