Technology Strategy Analyst

Role Purpose


The purpose of the Technology Strategy Analyst role is to support the development and review of Vodafone's end-to-end Technology Strategy (Tech2025) to be implemented across the whole of the Technology organisation, our One Tech team, ensuring that Networks and Digital IT systems evolve to deliver best customer experience, cost efficiency, enable new products and services and meet future operational targets supporting our journey as a Tech Comms company.


Accountabilities

  • Delivery of assigned elements/ components of the Vodafone endtoend Technology Strategy.
  • Delivery of assigned elements / components of the Vodafone endtoend Technology Strategy Priorities (previously known as Technology Guidance), including supporting analysis of plans vs agreed strategy/priorities.
  • Lead assessment for potential for automation opportunities of data insights and analytics across key strategic domains and priorities.
  • Provide support as Technology point of contact to other Group functions and local markets on Technology strategy in cross domain topics.
  • Has a shared responsibility for the delivery of end results and contributes to planning, finances/budget and policy formulation, including support to overall Technology planning, capital allocation reviews (CAR), etc.
  • Develop data insight and economics analysis aligned with Group Commercial and Finance to enable steering of overall Vodafone technology, commercial, business and corporate strategy.
  • Understand and assess technology trends and evaluate impact on Vodafone Technology and business, internally and externally, suggesting improvements. Including supporting assessment for competitors.
  • Project management support on adhoc strategic projects like Technology Risks assessments, Technology Dashboards refresh activities, etc.
  • Support Group CTO during Technology Conferences.
  • Support Investor Relations team during Investor days from Technology perspective.

  • Fast learner with the ability to enter into new topics and identify key drivers of business trends and technologies.
  • Background of working within Technology with good understanding of broad set of technologies in at least one of the following domains Networks and Digital & IT (including products and solutions and cyber security) space.
  • Has in depth understanding of the concepts, procedures and processes, expected outputs and objectives within own technology discipline / work area.
  • Proficient at engaging with people across department and different units/domains to collaborate towards meeting deadlines and achieving joint objectives. Demonstrates strong communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence; Ability to prioritise workload effectively when working to tight deadlines.

  • Strategic deliverables are delivered on time and to the right level of quality, including approved and signed off by relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in strategy and planning in a Tech Comms/Technology company preferred.
  • Strategy development and business modelling skills highly desirable.
  • Experience working in Agile teams/organisations preferably using SAFe highly desirable, but not required.
