Description
Reed are representing our public sector client to recruit a Payroll Officer. This is a full time, permanent position offering remote working with 1 day in the office per week.As a Payroll Officer, you will be carrying out duties to ensure the effective administration of payroll.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Assist with uploading data and running the payroll system
- Supervise payroll production and ensuring that all information entered in correct and complete
- Arrange payment to third parties for statutory and voluntary deductions
- Scrutinise claims within the audit role
- Ensure all transactions are paid in accordance with policy
- Ensure monthly submissions to HMRC are accurate and on time
- Assist with any reports for external or internal bodies in respect for pay information
- Provide support for employees in regards to pension queries
To be successful, you will:
- Have proven experience in a payroll environment
- Good technical knowledge of HMRC regulations
- Able to interpret legislation in respect of pay regulations
- Able to work to strict deadlines
- Good written and communication skills
- Proven experience supervising staff
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft
- CIPP qualification (desirable)
