    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist in the dynamic and friendly Paediatric Physiotherapy team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. This will be a full-time, permanent position.

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is committed to delivering excellent care for children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to:

    1. Assess and treat children from 0-19 with various presentations, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and respiratory issues.
    2. Work closely with other health professionals and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality, holistic, patient-centred care.
    3. Support quality improvement projects, clinical audits, and research.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The post holder will participate in Band 6 rotations, providing high-standard clinical physiotherapy management (assessment and treatment) that ensures best current evidence-based practice for patients referred to the paediatric physiotherapy service within the following areas:

    1. Children's wards
    2. Children's out-patients within specialist Children's Centres/Clinics
    3. Home environment
    4. Special Schools across the University Health Board area
    5. Mainstream Schools across the University Health Board area
    6. Ty Llidiard Inpatient Unit

    Principal Duties

    1. To take delegated responsibility from the senior physiotherapist within various settings for managing patients with particular conditions and be responsible for providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment plans for patients within each rotation.
    2. To manage own daily caseload, supervise physiotherapy assistants, and guide/mentor junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy students.
    3. To provide regular specialist physiotherapy input to designated paediatric clinics, providing patients/parents/carers with any necessary physiotherapy advice/equipment, home treatment programmes, and arrange out-patient physiotherapy where appropriate.
    4. To be an active member of the out-of-hours emergency respiratory on-call rota and participate in other weekend rotas as required across the University Health Board.
