Job Title: Derivatives Quant Dev / Software Engineer, FinTech

    Location: Maidstone, United Kingdom

    Category: Other

    EU Work Permit Required: Yes

    Job Description:

We are collaborating with a highly successful FinTech firm that delivers derivative pricing tools and analytics for traders at hedge funds and investment banks. Due to sustained success, the firm is seeking a Software Engineer to support their growth. This role would suit an individual with experience in the financial space, working with large, abstract code bases and agile environments.

Data plays a crucial role in their value proposition, making this a vital position.

The firm operates remotely with regular weekly in-person sessions to maintain a progressive culture and support personal development. They are based in London, but the team spans across the UK. Team members are entrusted to take on responsibility, eliminating micromanagement. This will appeal to a skilled Software Engineer comfortable working independently yet contributing to a collaborative team-based approach.

This role involves working within a small firm dedicated to delivering derivative pricing analytics via a web application. The client base consists of traders at leading hedge funds and investment banks. Their growing popularity stems from delivering accurate prices faster than other systems.

    Requirements:

    • A software engineer with experience working with large, complex code bases who can write collaborative code
    • Experience working in a collaborative team, as well as the ability to work independently due to the remote nature of the role
    • Web technologies expertise (WASM, WebGL), Typescript, Rust, and V8
    • An undergraduate degree in a relevant STEM subject, such as Computer Science, is preferred
    • Exposure to functional programming, pair programming, and agile methodologies
    • Some product knowledge within Rates/FX or Equity derivatives is beneficial
    • Familiarity with financial derivatives and pricing is advantageous
