What Is the Opportunity?

Do you have an interest in company law, financial regulation and corporate governance? Are you looking for a first step either after completing your A 'levels or university degree into a role that will give you exposure to a range of different departments company wide? This role will provide a solid foundation for building a career in corporate governance, or it could take your career in a variety of other directions such as legal, compliance or risk.

You will work closely with the Corporate Secretary, General Counsel and the Legal team.

You will work to support the efficient running of the Travelers Europe legal entities ensuring the Boards and their committees run smoothly and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.

You will be expected to undertake basic administration unsupervised but can expect to work closely with experienced lawyers on the more challenging and complex governance matters.

You will be expected to have a keen eye for detail, be an ambassador for the team as well as having a real desire to develop your career as a Corporate Governance professional.

You will gain experience of working in a large multinational organisation, developing a good understanding of company legislation and corporate governance in the UK and Europe.


Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy.

This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro-rata for part-time employees).

This policy may be changed at the Company's discretion.

This role is eligible for a £1,000 new joiner referral bonus.

What Will You Do?

  • Coordination of Board and Committee meetings and undertaking all aspects of board administration. You will support the effective running of the Board calendar to include managing room bookings, circulating invitations and organising IT as well as refreshments.
  • Prepare correspondence to ensure Board members and attendees are advised of board dates, agendas are comprehensive and contributors are aware of deadlines for the submission of papers.
  • Assist in the collation and production of board packs ensuring they are collated and dispatched within agreed timescales. Learning to use software platforms to manage and produce board papers.
  • Partner with the Company Secretary to prepare ad hoc board documents to include written resolutions. Monitor and track board and committee actions.
  • Develop skills in minute writing, coordinate the finalisation of minutes and support in the development of Board training.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Company statutory records. Monitor filing deadlines, assist in the production of statutory returns, and submit filings to appropriate regulators.
  • Review and comment on written materials prepared by other parts of the business to include proof reading of board papers and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide support to the Company Secretary, the General Counsel or other legal team members on ad hoc administrative tasks including but not limited to: act as a liaison with and between internal/external parties on work related communications such as audit and KYC requests; review incoming mail to determine urgency and next steps; compose documents; scheduling; inputting and maintaining information into management systems;
  • Organise electronic and hard copy records ensuring compliance with law and regulation to include adherence to internal procedures such as data retention and information security requirements.
  • Work on special projects and/or assignments as requested.
  • Assist the Legal team in maintaining and implementing administration standards, producing consistent documentation. Maintain and develop a data base of templates to include agendas, minutes, policies and terms of reference.
