Job Summary:
As a vehicle mechanic/technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other motorized vehicles.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and other issues.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to pinpoint problems accurately.
- Analyze diagnostic data and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
Repair and Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Weld, fabricate, or machine parts as necessary to complete repairs.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Vehicle Systems Expertise:
- Proficiently diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems, including fuel injection, emissions, steering, and suspension.
- Stay updated on advancements in automotive technology and attend training sessions as needed.
- Handle specialized systems such as hybrid or electric powertrains with competence.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Document parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle.
- Provide detailed explanations of work performed for customer reference and billing purposes.
Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns and vehicle history.
- Offer knowledgeable advice and recommendations regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Provide estimates for repair costs and timelines, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workshop.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to enhance efficiency and safety.
Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other technicians and support staff to streamline workflow and prioritize tasks.
- Assist colleagues with complex repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work culture within the workshop.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform quality checks on completed repairs to verify functionality and reliability.
- Conduct test drives or inspections to confirm that vehicles meet performance standards.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly to uphold the reputation of the repair facility.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational or technical training in automotive repair preferred.
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic/technician, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle makes and models.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Pay:
£100.00-£150.00 per day
Expected hours:
No more than 60 per week
