Job Purpose:


To support the organisation's goal of providing a high-quality curriculum for students who may have complex and additional educational needs.

To develop and deliver Forest School activities, appropriate to groups of children. To mentor and support pupils with additional needs. To be a lead practitioner with behaviour management techniques.

To be an effective professional, with specialized experience or qualifications, who can instruct and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and ensure learners achieve well.


Core Requirements of the Post:


Leadership and operational support to Horwood Coombe Inspire in support of the organization's aim to grow and expand its brand thereby supporting more young people on their path, including the safeguarding of the organisation and the young people it supports.


To ensure the delivery of a high-quality Forest School programmes and skills development activities suitable for students attending the organisation.

Areas of responsibility and key tasks.

Follow a programme of learning and skills development for groups of students who attend the organisation.

To collaborate and use assessment information to inform planning and delivery and to set appropriate targets for improvements.

Effectively manage other adults and students both indoors and outdoors.

Work collaboratively, as part of the teaching team, to ensure that students gain appropriate accreditation.

To use finance effectively for physical resources and tools.


Resources:
To ensure that finance is spent appropriately to ensure the best value for money.


Responsible for the maintenance of personal protective equipment to a safe working level in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and national standards.


Work demands:
To act in a flexible and positive manner and to continually review the effectiveness of programmes for students.

To maintain a positive approach to working with students who have a variety of additional and complex needs.

To make positive and supportive contributions to the staff team.

Working with and supporting the managing director and senior leadership team.

Making decisions in relation to operational activities.

Ensuring the business runs with legality and conformity to all relevant and appropriate regulations and legislation.

Supervising staff and volunteers and providing constructive feedback.

Operate at all times, within the stated policies and practices of the organisation. Take responsibility for health and safety, safeguarding and child protection.


Physical demands:
There will be physical demand in the delivery of practical programmes both indoors and outdoors. You will also at times have to work with animals.


Working conditions:
You are required to work inside and outside; sometimes with animals as well as students.


Links with others:
To work alongside organisations, parents and other agencies. To play a full-time part in the team approach at the organisation.


Management demands:


To liaise with the CEO on a daily basis regarding daily requirements, staff duties and the planning of student activities on the board.

To ensure everyday activities run smoothly.

Daily feedback on progress made, developments and any problems that have occurred. Duties as delegated by the CEO include managing team, feedback on daily developments, progress and problems.

Feedback and planning with schools and parents.

Developing new Forest School activities and proposals for students.

Responsible for Forest School kits and equipment

Responsible for the maintenance and development of Basecamp and the surrounding area


To compile, manage and update all risk assessments, policies and procedures and internal legal documents including health and safety manual and employee manual.
