About Us

Climb 4 is a community not for profit organisation. Providing support and creative activitiesfor vulnerable children, young people and families. It is our mission to provide creative and learning opportunities, that are inclusive and benefit the mind and body. In particular targeting those children/families with SEND/SEMH, looked after children, those experiencing trauma - within deprived areas.

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health coach to support and develop our growing mental health and well-being service.

Responsibility:
You shall support the Services Manager in the delivery of Climb 4's 'PAM' Positive Active Minds services.

Responsible for supporting children, young people and families, 'at risk/or experiencing signs of poor mental wellbeing within North East Lincolnshire.

Funded by 'National Community Lottery the post holder shall take part in individual/family-based assessments/monitoring via emotional 1-1 and peer support group-based sessions.

You will also facilitate training, peer support drop in's, and the development and delivery of other PAM networks, activities and events.

You will also share responsibility with the Training and Development coach to build and support volunteer peer mentors.

As part of the role you will also be given the opportunity for self-reflection, and supervision activities.

In addition you shall be required to complete additional CPD training to support your role as a Mental Health Coach.


Main Tasks

  • Follow and develop referral process
  • Manage a case load of individual's and families
  • Deliver 11 and small group face to face emotional support
- monitor progress

  • Deliver training sessions
  • Attend allocation meetings
  • Create and update participation Administration forms/project tracker to monitor progress of the project/participants
  • Complete Early Help assessments
  • Create action plans
  • Review / monitor Action plans tracking behaviour changes and outcomes
  • Identify any changes in behaviour/record/fact find/report/escalate if necessary
  • Offer training and support, to Peer support volunteers/students, enabling them to be involved with the 11 support sessions/ and group delivery.
  • Provide mental health support to those with poor mental health issues
  • Identify those in crisis or needed additional support and signpost/refer to other partnering services. Following Climb 4 Crisis pathway if necessary.
  • Provide information, advice, guidance and signposting for Families, Children and young people where appropriate
- including cross programme referrals within Climb
  • Develop relationships and joint working with relevant statutory groups and organisations. Attending meetings where appropriate.
  • Develop the activity programme providing activities within Immingham and Cleethorpes
  • Assist in the update of Safeguarding procedures and ensure all volunteers/participants understand processes.
  • Facilitate Volunteer training
- 'Become a Peer Mentor' or a project 'Buddy'
  • AQA Unit Award Scheme Certification.
  • Support Learning and Development coach to facilitate Volunteer forums to help shape the project, its development and assist with delivery.
  • Facilitate and support Learning and Development Practitioner coach in the creation and delivery of User led Peer Support 'Drop in sessions/Creative workshops programme
  • Assist service manager during yearly reporting process
  • Regularly meet with Line Manager/ Supervision lead
  • Complete relevant observation and supervision records

Essential

  • Psychology/Counselling/Mental Health Degree


  • Safeguarding Level

  • Current Enhanced DBS
  • 1 Years minimum experience of supporting vulnerable children young people and families
  • Expereince of facilitating community groups/activities
  • Experience of managing and supporting families
  • Experience of delivering via coproduction models
- working with those with lived experiences/ 'Experts by Experience.

  • 1 year minimum experience as a mental health support worker/nurse/practitioner
  • Good Knowledge of Child Development Local and Government legislatio
  • Understanding of the therapeutic benefits of 'Creative Activities' on the mental wellbeing of children and young people
  • Driving Licence and use of car

Desirable

  • Experience of working for a VCSE or delivering community project
  • Mental health Nurse / practitioner qualification
  • Evidence of commitment to CPD
  • Training Qualification
  • Expereince of facilitating the training/management of volunteers
  • Creative Skills Eg. Lego Therapy/Play Therapy/Art Therapy etc...
  • Keen interest in developing skills and understanding of use and benefits of Therapeutic arts when improving mental wellbeing.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
From £22,620.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 per week
