About parkrun

From quiet beginnings parkrun has grown into a worldwide social movement, empowering people to come together and helping communities to become healthier and happier.

Committed to breaking down barriers to participation in regular physical activity and bringing communities together, we deliver free, weekly, physical activity events that people of all ages and backgrounds can participate in as walkers, joggers, runners and volunteers.

Our mission is to create a healthier and happier planet.

Our challenge is to continue to thrive and expand in a sustainable manner, making the most of the opportunities offered to us across the world.

We are all about understanding, and breaking down barriers that people face in accessing regular physical activity.

Not satisfied with simply adding new events based on demand from communities, we design and create interventions that help us identify, and deliver, new events in harder-to-reach areas, directly impacting those who can benefit from the provision of regular, free, socially-focus physical activity.

We are ambitious, bold and brave, pushing boundaries and challenging conventions.
Our lean infrastructure has driven low-cost, scalable, efficient solutions. We measure our impact on being unconventional, transformative, deliberately disruptive in our field. We are in a state of constant evolution.
And we've only just begun.
