Facilities Shift Technician


Hands on role working as part of a small shift team on a 12-hour rotational shift basis to ensure continued reliable and efficient operation of existing plant facilities and services across the site.


Salary:
£28, % shift premium (£37,800)

Panama (Days and Nights Rota)

Responsibilities:


  • Support critical facilities and infrastructure for both reactive and planned tasks.
  • Support contractors during maintenance and breakdown attendance on site.
  • Support the continued safe and reliable operations of the Cleanrooms and R&D facilities on site.
  • Completion of documents and records for maintenance and reactive tasks.
  • Manage subcontractors on site as required, including issuing of various types of work permit.
  • Support the planned and preventive maintenance across all facilities infrastructure and building services, including:
  • Air Handling Units and A/C Systems
  • Chilled, UPW and DIW Systems
  • UPS Systems
  • Emergency Generators
  • HV and LV electrical systems
  • Fire Detection & Fire Protection Systems
  • Water Services and Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Clean room particle checks
  • BMS Trend Systems
  • Attend plant breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis and repair and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote a high level of work standards across the site; drive best practice through compliance to procedures and document control.
  • Involvement in risk assessment and fault diagnosis RCA.
  • Participate in small projects modifying equipment, improving, and strengthening the PM and technical specifications programs.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement across site in maintenance and repair of site facilities

Requirements:


  • Broad experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systems and an understanding of basic principles.
  • Awareness of reactive and preventive maintenance systems.
  • Experience working with "Trend" BMS system is desirable.
  • Experience of CMMS system for planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form to maintain electronic and paper records.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting OEM manuals and Electrical and Mechanical schematics desirable
  • Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel would be advantageous.
  • Awareness of regulatory compliance requirements, such as FGAS regulations, ODS regulations, COMAH, PSSR, L8, SED, FET/PAT, etc. would be advantageous.
  • Experience in a maintenance role, ideally supported with an apprenticeship or training program and have qualifications to HNC / HND / NVQ or equivalent in electrical / mechanical engineering.
  • HVAC, Mechanical / Electrical, utilities, plant services experience is desirable.
