Bickerley Green in Ringwood is a CQC rated Good nursing and residential home situated within the New Forest, just a five-minute walk from Ringwood town centre.

About the role:

As a Care Assistant, you'll provide varied and rewarding care to residents. You'll support their daily living, promote dignity and independence, and ensure needs are recorded.

Key responsibilities:


  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Help residents with their daily activities, such as eating, toileting, and taking medication.
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
  • Create a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Provide emotional support to residents and their families.
  • Promote residents' independence and dignity.
  • Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications and experience:

You'll be well supported with training and progression opportunities, even if you're new to care.

Ideally, you'll have an NVQ2 in Social Care and some experience with dementia although these are not essential as full training will be given.


  • Understand the needs of older people.
  • Be inclusive and respectful of diversity.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and relatives.
  • Be able to write clear and concise records and care plans.
  • Be able to use your own initiative and work independently.
  • Be flexible and able to work different shifts.
  • Be resilient and able to work under pressure.
  • Be able to promote a healthy and safe working environment.
