In-House Head of VAT, Financial Services (FTC)

£110,000 - £130,000 + bonus & benefits

100% remote working

Specific responsibilities will include:

Managing VAT and indirect tax matters including: review of compliance processes and controls, new and existing tax projects with indirect tax considerations and monitoring the impact of new tax legislation
Supporting M&A due diligence processes ensuring indirect tax considerations have been met
Leading the implementation and conclusion of ongoing VAT savings projects and identifying new indirect tax savings opportunities for the Group
Leading indirect tax support to onboard new acquisitions (systems, processes, compliance) and oversee testing and golive with Group's MTD solution
Support in preparing and reviewing UK Group VAT returns prepared by the segment finance teams and consolidated by the Indirect Tax Manager. Postreview of other nonUK VAT returns where necessary (e.g. Ireland)
Manage discussions with HMRC and internal stakeholders on the Group's Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) and associated VAT recoverability
Responding to ad hoc VAT and indirect tax queries from business
Supporting Tax and Finance team colleagues on international projects including transfer pricing review
ACA/CTA qualification, or equivalent experience
A solid grounding with UK indirect taxes; international experience advantageous
Prior indirect tax experience within the financial services is a prerequisite
A demonstrated people manager, with experience of directly managing reports inhouse
Able to selfmotivate and collaborate within a fully remote tax team
