ROLE MISSION


Working in partnership with our client, the Content Strategist will use your understanding of best practice content principles and planning to add value to projects immediately, building relationships with stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure brilliant outcomes for the client and customers alike.


THIS ROLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF...


You are a collaborative self-starter who can take briefs from business owners and bring them to life in the shape of a content strategy, articulated as a creative brief.

You will have a customer-focused love of content and the value it can add and customers alike.

Your strong grasp of what works and what great looks like is matched with a desire to continuously improve comms with robust measurement and test-and-learn tactics.

You don't necessarily need experience in Financial Services (although brilliant if you have) but ideally, you will have worked within a medium to large corporate business and have at least three years' experience in a similar role.

You may already be working in a client-side role or you may be working in an agency and looking for a chance to move across - either way, this is a brilliant opportunity to work on one of the country's leading Financial Services brands with content at the heart of its marketing strategy.


ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING


This role is embedded in our clients' in-house content strategy team so you'll get experience working client-side for a major UK FS brand.


Working in the client's comapny as part of their specialist Content Strategy team within their UK Retail Banking division, this is an exciting time to be part of the client's content transformation as it embeds and delivers its re-focused needs-based content strategy.


With greater emphasis on content and the outcomes it can drive for customers and the business, the team needs strategic thinkers who can see the bigger picture - identifying customer needs, and where there are gaps and opportunities and then translating this into an actionable strategy and plan.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Contributing to the overall content strategy for the client, helping to embed the strategy and educating wider Marketing Teams on content strategy best practices and approach
  • Providing content strategy consultation to the Content Marketing Team who execute the strategy. Ensuring creative executions meet objectives and our northstar ambitions
  • Providing support to our product Pods (Home Ownership, Fraud, Savings, for example) and working with key stakeholders to either ensure content is leveraged fully to support business briefs or taking ownership of the content brief and recommendations
  • Championing and challenging the wider teams to deliver truly customercentric content
  • Developing and delivering content strategies rooted in data and insights
  • Developing frameworks/tools that help the wider marketing community conduct smaller content strategies independentl
  • Developing and leading creative and media briefs into agencies
  • Building cross functional relationships to deliver integrated communications, customerfocussed content journeys

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL

You will:

  • Be a smart strategist with the ability to convert business briefs into creative content strategies that will motivate and inspire creative teams and enable them to create brilliant responses that hit the mark for stakeholders and customers alike
  • Have an innate consumer focus and mindset, acting as the customer voice to avoid Bankout solutions
  • Drive creative solutions with inspired creative briefs for our agencies to work to
  • Be a big picture thinker, who considers the full customer journey and where content can have the greatest impact
  • Mine our resources to create linear strategies with brilliant insights
  • Have a valuebased business perspective a wellgrounded appreciation of commercial consequences of marketing decisions
  • Have at least 3 years' agency or clientbased experience in Content Planning, ideally in Retail Financial Services or otherwise in another highly regulated industry, such as utilities or telecoms, that face similar marketing challenges
  • Be an outgoing, proactive and personable content strategist with the experience and confidence to develop briefs and RTBs by working closely with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Understand what it's like (and enjoy) working within a corporate environment with multiple stakeholders who have different interests and skills, from business partners to creative agencies
