The Asset Management and Property Services team manages the Gloucestershire County Council estate.

We are an established Property Services and Estates Management team who take pride in delivering high quality service across the County, including educational establishments, to ensure we have a fully compliant estate.

We have the knowledge and expertise to advise on legislative, statutory requirements, national guidelines and best practice requirements for property matters.


How you'll help us make a difference
We are recruiting for a FM Support Officer to join our Facilities Management Support Team.

Within this role you will be part of a busy team who are responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient running of the Shire Hall complex and wider County Council estate.

Undertaking all tasks with a clear customer focus, providing facilities services which will lead to a welcome, safe and well managed working environment for all staff and visitors.


This is what you need to do:

  • Key holding responsibilities, and be responsible for opening and locking up Council buildings as directed
  • Carry out security duties as tasked, including dealing with unauthorised persons on site
  • In relation to fire, assist the Fire Service where necessary, should there be a Fire Alarm activation and undertake associated duties such as Fire Warden and securing areas as required
  • Undertake the duties of Appointed Person for First Aid as required, and in accordance with training received
  • Manage and deliver supplies for areas of the building
  • Undertake facilities management duties as required (for example: the removal of furniture and dismantling/erection of equipment)
  • Contribute to the management and success of Asset Management and Property Services, and to carry out other duties and responsibilities which may be required by the AMPS Management Team
  • Effective management of keys retained on site for county council buildings.
  • Effective liaison with contractors and visitors to county council buildings
  • Adhere to all health and safety instructions and to take reasonable care not to do anything that might endanger themselves or others
The normal working hours are between 7am-8pm on a rota shift system, with regular out of hours' cover.
