About this Role


The 3rd Party Scheduler is responsible for instructing the 3rd party contractors in the reworks required to meet customer demand through the creation of process and purchase orders; plus regular communication to deliver the best possible service.

Communicate and lead this scheduled rework in collaboration with numerous key contacts within Diageo and at 3rd parties.

These include - 3rd party reworkers, line schedulers (for production of interim stock), material planners, project managers, site warehousing and dispatch, market service owners.


Key outcome is meeting customer orders on time and in full (OTIF) and in minimising excess inventory in the network.


They are also responsible for the recording the completion of orders in the SAP manufacturing system and helping to resolve any invoicing issues that arise.


This role holder must understand the financial implications of raising purchase orders (with a sign off up to £1000) and also obtain quotes from the 3rd party contractors for ad-hoc finishing/rework activities.

Manage market issues to try to meet their changing requirements to the best date available.

Provide 3rd party reworkers with sufficient transparency to align resource to meet demand. Prioritise, if necessary, when there is a constraint in available interim stock, labour, materials or warehouse capacity.


This role operates within a very complex network comprising supply from various sites in Scotland and worldwide plus primary warehouse locations.

This is in place to meet customer demand to Diageo's markets worldwide.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Baseline understanding of the end-to-end Supply Planning processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills verbal, written and presentation.
  • Motivated and committed to overcome obstacles to obtain results.
  • Experience with advanced SAP software.
  • Experience working in centralised planning function preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in appropriate supply chain, mathematical, engineering, or business degree is preferred.
