About UsThe Role:
The Operational Systems Trainer is responsible for the delivery of operator focused systems training to external customers and company personnel.
The incumbent has the responsibility of conducting on-going training needs analysis to ensure OSI clients receive the required bridge systems training to operate safely.
Main Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops and delivers a range of operator focused training courses to external and internal audiences based on the systems approach to training leveraging PSI simulators.
- Provides inputs to operator focused bridge systems training materials to ensure currency and quality.
- Operates and supports configuration of operator training resources and systems.
- Liaises closely with the engineering, production and support teams to ensure that systems training material keeps abreast with product development.
- Liaises with the ILS team to ensure OEM material from suppliers is available to support course development and training requirements coincide with the customer support solution.
- Liaises closely with support and operations staff to ensure internal training needs are met.
- Keeps current with emerging trends and techniques to deliver cost effective, efficient training.
- Provides estimates for systems training design, development and delivery and delivery and development to support proposals.
- Contributes in the development of OSI Training Strategy and Policy.
You Bring:
- Previous military naval operational experience or equivalent civilian training experience; preferably in a bridge or combat management system (CMS) capacity.
- At least 3 years of bridge or CMS experience coupled with teaching/ mentoring experience
- Experience in naval tactics and bridge operations
- Strong skills and experience in executing systems approach to training, CFITES or NATO training standards; and familiar with military training program execution
- Experience in training technologies such as simulators and virtual training environments is a strong asset
- Training and experience with training syllabus development, authoring training materials and incorporating them in a simulated environment
- Knowledge and understanding of delivering training to military audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work within a matrix organization requiring a high level of negotiation and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts.
