These include acute and psychiatric intensive care services for adults, Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, a specialist adult Eating Disorder service and a private addictions service.

To work as a small team within the hospital providing high quality administrative service to meet the statutory requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) and to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Mental Health Act Administration service for Woodbourne.


The main areas involve receiving and scrutinising documentation within legal timescales, providing information to patients and nearest relatives under Section 132 of the Mental Health Act 1983 and to uphold registers containing statutory deadlines.

The post holder will be expected to send letters following detention and discharge, to upload relevant documentation to care notes and ensure relevant professionals are kept up to date.

The post holder is responsible for organising Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Manager Reviews. This will include confirming venues and dates as well as processing and requesting relevant documentation.

The post holder will liaise with external organisations as well as take part in cqc visits and action plans.

Working knowledge of the mental health act is desirable.
