DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Media & Continuity team sit within Channel 4's Marketing department.

It is their responsibility to manage the owned media promotional strategy and allocation of owned inventory across the 4Network collaborating closely with the wider Marketing and Viewer Experience teams, our external media agency, Channel Management, Presentation and 4Creative.


JOB PURPOSE


To plan and manage innovative and effective owned media promotional campaigns and ensure that promotional inventory is utilised to maximum efficiency and effectiveness and in synergy with paid media plans.

This role will also lead on analysis to support our strategic planning at a macro level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work alongside the On Air Media Manager and Head Of Media to help shape and craft Channel 4's overall owned media strategy, feeding into the wider marketing strategy
  • Collaborate with our partner agency (OMD) to ensure a joinedup approach to owned and paid AV planning.
  • Produce and present On-Air Campaign Plans
  • Conduct and contribute to detailed Post Campaign Analyses for all priority Channel 4 marketing campaigns
  • Consistently review effectiveness of promotional airtime through BARB data analysis
  • Providing detailed competitor analysis and regular competitor reporting
  • Lead on the delivery of Ad Hoc strategic projects
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, Viewer Insight, Programme Management alongside external media/research agency partners
  • Act as a point of contact with various teams including (but not necessarily limited to) the following: Marketing, External Media Agency, 4Creative, Channel Management and Research

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIANCE

  • Experience planning AV campaigns, in either a media agency or broadcaster environment defining targets, setting weights and analysing results
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) the ability to explain and present complex information in simple terms
  • Expertise in using BARB analysis tools (Techedge)
  • Good knowledge of Channel 4's channel portfolio, services and understanding of its remit
  • Excellent presentation skills and confidence to present at senior levels of the business

DESIRABLE QUALITIES

  • Experience using data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau / Power BI) to build userfriendly, interactive dashboards
  • Good understanding of the wider AV media landscape
