Metering Fault Analyst
Day Rate:
£350 - £400 (Dependent on experience)
Location:
Hybrid/Warwick (Role is primarily home based)
Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)
Job Purpose:
As an Asset Lifecycle Specialist, you'll be part of a team responsible for the engineering policy management of our 8 million gas meters across the UK; residential, commercial, and industrial.
You will be a dynamic, adaptive, and resilient industry professional regarding Safety, Health and Environment with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the business and be curious with a 'can do' attitude.

Key Accountabilities:
- You will provide informed analysis of fault data, evaluate the findings, and make recommendations to ensure that prompt actions are taken to continually improve the management of our asset portfolio.
- You will consistently achieve strong results, through being agile and making smart decisions and delivering on your promises.
- You will look ahead to anticipate problems and use your judgement and insight to preempt them whilst influencing positive change.
- You always think about safe operation of the portfolio and ask if what you are doing will add the most value for the business and consumers.
- You will be a strong team member and exceed the expectations of our people, customer, business, and key stakeholder relationships.
- You will help shape the Strategic Asset Management Plan and use your experience to further inform current and future asset policies and procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- Ideally Incorp Eng. or vocational qualifications in an engineering discipline with particular emphasis on Industrial and Commercial Gas installations or Pressure management systems, understanding upstream and downstream requirements.
- Ability to write and review engineering policy and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of UK legislation, standards, and policy applicable to Gas Metering Installations.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of RCM principles
- Ability to conduct engineering root cause analysis investigations
- Knowledge of reliability tools and metrics
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and quality management systems (ISO 9001)
- You will have or be working towards IAM registration.
- You will have or be working towards IGEM registration or relevant equivalent. (IMechE, ICorr etc.)
