Some exciting opportunities for Advanced Technical Apprentices have become available at our world-class aerospace manufacturing facility in East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.
With a mixture of both classroom and on-the-job training, you will be involved in delivering opportunities, solutions and benefits to the GKN operations site based on data driven analysis and the ability to understand complex situations.
Subject to your qualifications, you will work in conjunction with one of the following Apprenticeship Standards:
Level- Engineering Technician:
Level- Engineering Manufacturing Technician
- This could potentially lead to an opportunity to pursue a Degree.
Manufacturing Engineering (ME) (this covers a number of
sub-disciplines including Product & Planning, Materials & Process, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Tooling, Computer Aided Manufacturing)
Design Engineering:

Responsibilities:
Apprentice Key Responsibilities
- To observe the company's terms and conditions of employment.
- In both work and training, to be diligent and punctual and attend courses, keep records and undertake any tests determined by the company in order to measure and achieve the training objectives and quality gates.
- To behave in a responsible manner and in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation relating to the individual's responsibilities.
- To be a good ambassador of the Company's name and image.
- To successfully complete all activities documented in the Apprenticeship Training Agreement.
Job Qualifications:
Level
- Engineering Technician
GCSE or Equivalent Maths: Grade 9-5, English: Grade 9-4, Science: Grade 9-4, Plus two more Grades 9-4
Level
- Engineering Manufacturing Technician
GCSE or Equivalent Maths: Grade 9-5, English: Grade 9-4, plus
A levels Maths: Grade A- C, plus one more Grade A
- C
Level
PLEASE ALSO NOTE the position requires UK National Security Vetting (UKNSV) Security clearance (SC) due to the nature and responsibilities of the work carried out. In order for us to obtain an SC you usually need to have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years to current date (but we do assess each case individually)
