Be the first to join us on a restricted Cloud Platform that offers you a very exciting futureThis is an opportunity for an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to join our growing team currently supporting our Aerospace client who are going through an exciting change, deploying a secure hybrid Cloud solution.
The team is made up of 4 Cloud Engineers and 4Cloud Operators who act as the first and second line of support.
The team implement, support and maintain the client's Cloud system, through CI/CD with second and third line support to optimise performance.
The team also supports the existing on premise infrastructure towers when they have capacity, providing an additionalavenue for increasing their experience and knowledge.
This is a full time position however the team are flexible in work patterns. You will be required to work from our client's offices in Newport.What you'll be doing:
- Accept, diagnose, resolve or escalate 2nd and 3rd line tickets
- Create procedures and undertake knowledge transfer for Cloud Operators to allow for 1st line resolution of tickets
- Collaborate with our clients to suggest and implement improvements to the Cloud platform
- Continuous deployment of code provided by the client's Development Team
- Managing, administering and patching the Cloud solution through a variety of tools such as HyperV,
SCVMM, WSUS and Red Hat Satellite - Maintaining the security and integrity of the platform
What you'll bring:
- Experience of virtualisation, Windows Server, Linux
- Good and solid understanding and experience of associated infrastructure engineering tools, techniques and methods
- Demonstrable experience of working as an Infrastructure Engineer on software engineering projects
- Infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding, root cause analysis and fixes.
- Extensive work experience in infrastructure management and/or cloud
It would be great if you had:
- Experience in Citrix NetScaler and VDI environments
- Experience and understanding of cloud platforms
- Use of PRTG Network Monitoring tool
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior colleagues
- CI/CD and/or DevOps knowledge
- Data centre experience
- Knowledge and awareness of IAM/messaging, storage/backup and databases
