The Growth Company's (GC) Business Growth Hub has a vacancy for a Manufacturing Advisor to deliver high quality specialist business growth advice to a portfolio of ambitious business owners and senior managers of manufacturing businesses that are aiming to achieve growth.

The role will assess the growth potential of eligible businesses, diagnose any barriers to growth and agree suitable action plans to address these and release growth opportunities.

We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.


Key Responsibilities:


The Manufacturing Advisor's primary responsibility is to ensure that the Business Growth Hub's manufacturing services, are delivered to produce the maximum impact in terms of assisting the client company to reach their full growth potential, and delivery of outputs and outcomes including improved performance, growth, new jobs and new products.


  • Undertake detailed diagnostics on a business to capture baseline data from clients and to identify growth barriers addressed by developing growth action plans. This will involve the analysis and interpretation of business and market data / intelligence to provide recommendations to senior management teams, boards, and shareholders to include on site diagnostic visits to client's factories.
  • Deliver bespoke support directly to enable them to fully meet their growth potential.
  • Deliver workshops and seminars on foundation manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure that the collection of output and impacts data is undertaken throughout the project.
  • Generating a pipeline of manufacturing businesses looking to receive support.
  • Develop and maintain a highlevel network of business / professional contacts that generate personal referrals.
  • Ensure client enquiries and partner referrals are correctly recorded on GC's CRM system.

About You:


  • Manufacturing knowledge (continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, process improvement, standard work, TPM, waste elimination NPI etc).
  • Have excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, administrative and project management skills.
  • Strong Presentation skills both written and oral.
  • Sales and Account management skills.

Requirements:


  • Degree level qualification within a manufacturing/management/business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in managing the wider range of business issues associated with periods of business growth (management marketing and finance).
  • Have technical knowledge in the key areas of manufacturing processes is desirable.
  • Experience of budget and contract management practice is desirable.
  • Understanding and experience of using project management techniques is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key national, subregional and local organisations and their role in supporting economic development and specifically business growth is preferable.
