    About this Role:

Estates Technical Officer


Having recently expanded to 18 primary schools, the Learning Academies Trust is expanding the Estates Team, in order to continue to provide an exceptional services to the schools within the trust.


Key responsibilities include:


  • To utilise existing data to identify key premises needs within the Trust and create specifications and tenders/quotations to match those needs.
  • Define, including specifications, procure, coordinate and monitor a proportion of LAT wide building projects to minimise disruption to the operation of the schools within agreed specification, cost and timeframe
  • Prepare plans for preventative and planned maintenance of all school buildings and grounds, reviewing all annual property contracts on a rolling programme to ensure value for money and compliance, with weekly inspections and checks of buildings.
  • Support the Estates Manager with premises related health and safety across the schools, also ensuring, through the whole Estates Team, that periodic safety surveys are undertaken in compliance with current legislation.

Key skills:


  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Technical Construction type role/Surveying or HNC/HND in Construction or similar
  • Experience of working within a relevant discipline e.g. facilities, building, maintenance, engineering, surveying or project management
  • Detailed knowledge of building regulations, planning permission requirements within schools
  • Managing and delivering projects including supplier, consultant and contractor relationships
  • Full driving licence
