We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of our client, a highly regarded SME fintech business based in Hertfordshire.


The key area of focus for the role include day-to-day leadership of the Finance team, internal client money reconciliations, financial reporting to client companies, CASS operational oversight of Client Money Accounts, and the associated processes and financialcontrols.

This is a hybrid working role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all client money positions are tracked and reconciled on a daily basis, with all processing anomalies reconciled and cleared down to zero.
  • Acting as cheque, transfer and online banking authoriser, ensuring efficient quality checking is in place.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to both the Finance and Technical & Dealing Teams.
  • Identifying and delivering efficiencies within the Finance department, both in automation and streamlining of processes.
  • Managing and motivating the Finance team, setting clear objectives and communicating information effectively. Reviewing monthly MI to identify and deliver on improvements to eliminate errors or complaints.
  • Providing MI to clients and management to report the financial position of bank, investment and system balance positions.
  • Maintaining adherence to ISO27001 standard practices.
  • Sufficiently preparing both internal and external audits, ensuring all resulting actions are managed to conclusion.

Key Requirements

  • Must have a background in Financial Services (Insurance, Banking, Wealth Management), with previous experience of process improvements.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a management role within Financial Services.
  • At least 2 years' experience of operating/managing Client Money Accounts in accordance with the rules set out in the FCA's Client Assets sourcebook.
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Experience of implementing change and business improvement projects.
