Overview:


The Volunteer Coordinator (Groups in Cambridge and the surrounding area) is responsible for the development and facilitation of CamSight's Local Groups program ensuring that a calendar of existing and new groups is delivered across the county.

The role will oversee all aspects of our Local Groups including recruiting and training volunteers, arranging venues, speakers, entertainment, refreshments, and transport for service users.

The role will require you to travel across Cambridgeshire.


Specific Tasks

Volunteers

  • Support the recruitment, induction, and training of new and existing volunteers.
  • Promote CamSight's volunteer opportunities using a wide range of platforms and networks to ensure that our volunteering is accessible and inclusive.
  • Respond to enquiries about volunteering promptly to maximise the uptake of opportunities.
  • Recruit and induct volunteers in line with safer recruitment practices.
  • Ensure compliance with our obligations to undertake DBS checks for volunteers.
  • Coordinate and deliver ongoing training and support sessions for volunteers.
  • Ensure volunteers have access to uptodate information about CamSight's Local Groups and their roles.
  • Support the development of volunteering internally by championing volunteer management best practice and supporting colleagues accordingly.

Local Groups

  • Plan and deliver a timetable of Local Peer Support Groups throughout the region, including arranging venues, speakers, entertainment, volunteers, refreshments, and transport for clients.
  • Coordinate with the wider CamSight team to ensure their attendance at groups to deliver support and advice.
  • Collaborate with CamSight's Marketing and Communications Officer to promote the Local Groups program.
  • Ensure all necessary risk assessments, policy, and procedures for the safe delivery of groups are in place, and accurately recorded.
  • Recruit and supervise a team of local volunteers to assist with delivery of The Local Group Program.

Transport

  • Deliver a range of transport options for the safe transportation of service users between their home and local groups. This may include using the CamSight branded vehicle/your own car.
  • Work collaboratively with community transport providers to ensure transport options are available across the county.
  • Lead on the development and delivery of CamSight's Electric Vehicle Transport Scheme.
  • Recruit, Induct and train Volunteer Drivers to enable the safe delivery of Electric Vehicle Transport Scheme.

Part-time, Permanent


Pay:
£13,306.00-£14,323.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 per week
