The Operational HR team work across all departments within Essex and Kent, supporting and guiding managers in their people related issues.

We have two new posts in the structure (one in Essex and one in Kent) which provide exciting opportunities for individuals to take up a varied and interesting role providing resourcing and establishment support across either Kent or Essex.


The Establishment Officer will coordinate all local resourcing information for police officer postings within Command areas whilst working with the Central HR Resource Planning team to review and facilitate information and movements of officers across commands including supporting probationer and promotional posting plans.

The posts will be the single point of contact in each force for local resourcing information.


The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for providing high levels of customer service to internal customers, they will have personal drive to ensure they add value to operational policing and demonstrate an ability to provide a pro-active approach to problem solving.

Within the role you will build effective working relationships through your interactions. This will see you adapting your style where necessary using excellent written and verbal communication skills.


The primary responsibilities for the role include utilising SAP for the tracking of internal moves and police officer postings, providing management information to various Command meetings and being able to accurately record information and chase for updates.

The information will also need to be shared with HR Advisers who will provide vital support and development for the roles.


As this is a new role you will have the opportunity to support shaping the processes and practices for the team.

Essex:


Successful applicants for this role will be defined as an; Office based Agile Worker - Office based agile working with designated team area.

Works predominantly (60% or more) in one office space. The rest of the time works at home or at other police site locations.


Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to.

This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
