Description
The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is looking for a passionate Finance Assistant to join their team. This position is a full-time position based at the Hotel, working 5 Days, 40 Hours a week.


Finance Assistant takes responsibility to ensure all measures, targets and standards are achieved to the highest audit standard in a professional and efficient manner.

The role would further require you to maintain finance records and carry out administration duties relating to finance.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant is responsible for Accounts Receivable/Credit Control, Revenue Control, Accounts Payable and Commissions, audit compliance, balance sheet reconciliation as well as General Cashiering.

What you'll do.

Sales Ledger/Credit Control:

  • Check SL invoices and send to customer, chase AR debt (your goal will be based on outstanding debt over 90 days), organise & hold the monthly credit meeting and prepare the minutes. Review the bank account daily and allocate any payments received, deal with disputes and queries and issue credit notes if required.

Revenue Control:

  • Review rebates, refunds, no shows, upgrades, comp rooms, cancellations, and rate changes to ensure all within policy. Review petty cash transactions to ensure that they are posted correctly and as per Company policy.

Accounts Payable:

  • To process supplier invoices for payment on a weekly basis. To ensure that all invoices are correctly approved and account coded. Update the PO log & upload the image into the system. To check all supplier statements on a weekly basis. To prepare the paperwork to add new vendors into the payables system.

Cashiering:

  • Ensure cash machine stock value is sufficient for business needs. Prepare cash deposit for security uplift & order change if required.

  • Timeliness and accuracy in recording and reporting.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to follow procedures and LSOPs closely.
  • Willingness to learn and develop as training will be provided.
  • Effective communication (verbal, listening, writing), professional telephone manner.
  • Excel Skills to Intermediate level required.
  • English, Mathematics, Accounts qualifications preferred.
